In page thirteen of Sarah's Price, the free on-line thriller romance novel by Rob Hopcott, we see that the employees, including Sarah, had invested their savings into the company where they worked but how the directors who were virtually appointed by the bank seemed to have little interest in keeping the business going.

Although the company had an excellent product for which there was strong demand, the company was allowed to fail and the directors were not held to account.

Sarah and the other shareholders consequently lost everything they had invested.
